Planned Burn adjacent Point Glorious Lookout

This alert applies to the following parks:

Weather permitting, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will conduct a planned burn in the north eastern section of Mapleton National Park, in the week commencing 17th September 2018. These burns are being undertaken to protect life and property in the event of a wildfire.

Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Point Glorious Lookout and Browns Creek Road area. People with respiratory or other health issues should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.

During the planned burn, Carol fire management trail, part of the South East Queensland Horse Riding Network, will be closed to recreational access. Alternate horse riding access in this area can be via Browns Creek and Bottle and Glass fire management trails. Other recreational access is unlikely to be affected by this planned burn.

Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
