Planned harvesting operations and closure of walking tracks

This alert applies to the following parks:

HQPlantations harvesting operations of Araucaria (hoop pine) plantation north, east and west of Charlie Moreland camping area are planned to commence from August 2018. Staged harvesting and summer replanting is proposed over the next two years. A buffer of Araucaria plantation and associated rainforest understorey will be retained along Little Yabba Creek.

As a result, the following areas are temporarily closed for short periods throughout the harvesting and replanting program:

  • Piccabeen circuit

Charlie Moreland camping and day use area will remain open.

There will be an increase in heavy vehicle traffic on Sunday Creek Road.

Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.

Alternate facilities are available at Booloumba Creek in Conondale National Park, or Peach Trees walking tracks in Jimna State Forest.

Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
