Ship Wreckage Exposed

This alert applies to the following parks:

As a result of large swells and high tides, the wreckage of the Cherry Venture on Teewah Beach has been partially exposed. The exposed area is located approximately 500 metres south of the Leisha Track on Teewah Beach.

As the wreckage is in advanced state of deterioration, the exposed rusted steel poses a hazard to motorists and walkers in the area. Vehicles travelling along the beach during periods of high tide and poor visibility should exercise caution at all times, and plan to travel at low tide, if safe to do so.

Please note reflector markers are positioned on the exposed wreckage for your safety. This hazard will be present for the foreseeable future, or until beach conditions adjust.

Your safety is our concern but your responsibility.
