Safety warning: fast flowing creek water, Paluma Range National Park

This alert applies to the following parks:

Recent heavy rainfall and further forecasted rainfall is causing creeks in the park to rise significantly.

Always be aware of:

  • strong water currents (even when surface water looks calm)
  • unpredictable water conditions
  • slippery rocks
  • submerged objects

Many people have died, others have been seriously injured swimming in creeks and rivers in far north Queensland.

To stay safe do not enter the water.
