Temporary closure of the Daintree ferry

This alert applies to the following parks:

The Douglas Shire Council will be temporarily closing the Daintree ferry to undertake mandatory safety inspections and maintenance works from Wednesday 28 February to Sunday 4 March 2018.

The Cape Tribulation section of the Daintree National Park will still be open, however vehicular access from south of the Daintree River will not be possible.

The Douglas Shire Council has arranged an alternative free passenger vessel that will go back and forth across the Daintree River that will operate from 6am to 6pm.

A free shuttle bus will then operate north and south of the Daintree River from 5:30am to 5:45pm. This shuttle bus will have a pick up and drop off point at Cow Bay, north of the Daintree River.

For further information and updates on more drop off and pick up points such as Cape Tribulation please refer to the Douglas Shire Council website.
