Planned burn - Carnarvon National Park

This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) are conducting planned burn activities from Monday 8/5/17 to Wednesday 31/5/17, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests.

Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of:

  • Mount Moffatt section, Carnarvon National Park
  • Salvator Rosa section, Carnarvon National Park
  • Ka Ka Mundi section, Carnarvon National Park
  • Carnarvon Gorge section, Carnarvon National Park

Observe all signage and directions from rangers.

Access to the main walking track and side tracks at Carnarvon Gorge will remain open.

Access to the remote sections of the Carnarvon Great Walk from Boowinda Gorge and Boolimba Bluff will be closed.
