Mount Moffatt section of Carnarvon National Park will be closed for pest management activities from 13-19 March
This alert applies to the following parks:
The Mount Moffatt section of Carnarvon National Park will be closed from Monday 13 March to Sunday 19 March 2017 while QPWS pest management control programs are carried out.
All control activities are conducted in accordance with QPWS Pest Management Plans and help to protect native plants and wildlife.
Firearms, herbicides, traps or poisons may be in use.
The following areas are temporarily closed for the duration of the pest management program:
- Top Moffatt, West Branch and Rotary shelter shed camping areas
- The Circuit drive
- The High Country drive
Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
Areas that will remain open during the pest management program are:
- Dargonelly Rock Hole camping area
- The Tombs, The Chimneys, The Looking Glass, Cathedral Rock and Marlong Arch walking tracks
- The information shelter at the ranger base
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
