Stockyard Point road at Byfield National Park is currently closed, after more than 400 millimetres of rain.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) urges people who had been intending to visit Byfield National Park and State Forest over the next week to check park alerts at

QPWS Principal Ranger Peter Moore said Waterpark Creek causeway was currently impassable due to flooding.

“Road conditions are boggy, and creek crossings are damaged,” Mr Moore said.

“Keep safe, and avoid damaging the tracks further, by staying clear of the area till it reopens.

“QPWS will do repairs once the weather conditions allow.

“The camping areas at Five Rocks and Nine Mile Beach will be closed until road repairs are completed,” he said.
