Planned burning operations - Mt French

This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned burns from May to September 2017 as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests. These burns are being undertaken to help reduce fuel loads, promote conservation outcomes and to help protect life and property in the event of a wildfire. Smoke may be seen coming from within Mt French Section of Moogerah Peaks National Park during this time. Exact dates cannot be given as operations are dependent on suitable weather conditions. Where feasible, further notification will be given closer to the day of burning. Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation. Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
