Planned burn Fitzroy Island National Park

This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) intend to conduct a planned burn between 17 July 2017 and 20 July 2017, on Fitzroy Island National Park. During this time large areas of Fitzroy Island National Park will be closed to the public specifically including the Lighthouse and Summit lookout tracks. Normal access will however be facilitated to the Resort area, Nudey beach and the Secret Garden walking tracks.

During the planned burn the following areas are closed to public access:

  • Summit Track walking track
  • Lighthouse Track

Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Fitzroy Island National Park.

Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
