Planned burn Lizard Island National Park

This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) intend to conduct a planned burn between 27 July 2017 and 31 July 2017, on Lizard Island National Park. During this time certain areas of Lizard Island National Park will be closed to the public.

During the planned burn the following areas are closed to public access:

  • Lizard Island National Park campground
  • Cooks Look and Blue Lagoon walking tracks
  • Palfrey Island
  • South Island

Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Lizard Island National Park.

Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
